Welcome to Summer by the Sea!

DSE's annual festival of all things marine and coastal! Summer by the Sea provides opportunities for all Victorians to get to know more about our local coastal environments. For the first three weeks of January the Victorian coast will come alive with more than 300 free activities.

Now in its 18th year, Summer by the Sea provides a diverse range of fun opportunities for both holiday makers and local residents to explore, understand and conserve the natural wonders of the Victorian coastline.

Summer by the Sea 2012 has something for everyone, no matter what your age or interests. Paddle an ocean kayak, dive into the marine environment, explore the coastline on a guided walk, meet the inhabitants of your local rockpool, or earn a Junior Biologist Certificate.  All activities are delivered by local experts, and are intended to provide a fun and safe learning experience.
